Arrest Made in Burglary of New Ipswich Business
New Ipswich, New Hampshire – On Sunday, December 25, 2022, at approximately 4:57 AM, Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks were dispatched to a reported burglary and theft at the New Ipswich Market, located at 575 Turnpike Road in New Ipswich.
Troopers arrived to find the Market owner and an employee on scene. Employees reported that they arrived at the store to find that someone smashed out a window, entered the store, and removed a large sum of money and cigarettes from the store. Store employees were able to help members of the State Police in identifying a person of interest with the help of store surveillance footage. This person was identified as Daniel Depauw, age 48, of New Ipswich. A short time later, Troopers located Depauw at a gas station in the Town of Milford where he was initially questioned.
On Thursday, January 5, 2023, through a thorough investigation, Troopers were able to conduct a follow up interview of Depauw in regards to the Burglary. During this interview, Depauw confessed to having been the person observed in the Market video and the one who entered the store and took the money and cigarettes on Christmas morning.
Troopers subsequently arrested Depauw on Thursday, January 5, 2022, at approximately 11:00 AM at the Troop B Barracks in Bedford. Depauw was charged with Burglary and Theft by Unauthorized Taking, both felony level offenses. Depauw was released on Personal Recognizance and ordered back to the Hillsborough County Superior for arraignment on February 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
This case remains open. If anyone has information related to this incident, please contact Trooper William Moran at (603) 223-8492 or William.J.Moran@dos.nh.gov.
