Arrest/Motor Vehicle Pursuit - NH Route 101, Epping
On Sunday, January 24, 2021, at approximately 04:40 a.m., Trooper George Sanborn of the New Hampshire State Police Troop-A was monitoring traffic on Route 101 in Raymond when he observed a Hyundai sedan traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound near Exit 5. Tr. Sanborn was able to clock this vehicle with RADAR at a consistent 95 MPH and proceeded in an attempt to conduct a motor vehicle stop for this violation. As Tr. Sanborn caught up to this vehicle near Exit 6 he activated his emergency lighting which the Hyundai did not immediately yield to. The Hyundai took the Exit 6 off ramp then proceeded through the intersection of Depot Road without slowing and increased its speed in a deliberate attempt to elude apprehension. These actions caused a pursuit to be initiated, which continued back onto Route 101 East. As the Hyundai was nearing Exit 7 its operator finally yielded and brought the vehicle to a stop in the breakdown lane. The occupants were taken into custody without incident.
The driver is identified as Sydney Moody, age 19 of Manchester, NH. She is being charged with Reckless Driving, Disobeying an Officer, Driving after Suspension, and Possession of a Controlled Drug. She was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in the 10th Circuit- District Division- Brentwood Court on April 6th for her arraignment.
The New Hampshire State Police Troop-A were assisted by the Epping Police Department during this incident.
