Commercial Motor Vehicle rollover Interstate 89 North, New London, NH

On 2/11/2020 at approximately 6:34 A.M. the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D received a 911 call of a Commercial Motor Vehicle roll over on Interstate 89 North in New London, NH near Exit 12A. The weather was a mix of rain and snow. There were multiple vehicle crashes reported in the area at the same time of this crash.

A box truck for Bellavance Beverage Company lost control due to travelling too fast for the existing road conditions and struck another vehicle before driving off the roadway and overturning onto its side in the median. The operator:

Thomas Harwood
Age 29
Derry, NH

was the sole occupant of the box truck. The operator of the vehicle that was struck by the box truck was identified as:

Robert Boon
Age 65
Hopkinton, NH

Both operators were uninjured from this crash.

The contents of the box truck spilled into the median. The removal of the box truck and spillage of materials caused the left lane to be closed for several hours.

New London Fire and Rescue, the NH DOT and Duval's Towing & Recovery company assisted the State Police at the scene. Trooper First Class Scott Atherton of Troop G also responded to the scene to conduct a Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspection Report. The crash is still under investigation at this time. Anyone who witnessed the crash is encouraged to contact Trooper Kyle Cotnoir of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D at 603-227-0089.
