Deputy Town Clerk Arrested for Improperly Accessing DMV Records
NORTHUMBERLAND, New Hampshire - On March 8, 2024, Courtney McLain, age 32, of Northumberland, New Hampshire was arrested and charged with 14 counts of violating RSA 638:17 Computer Related Offenses and 14 counts of RSA 641:7 Tampering with Public Records.
An investigation conducted by the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G, revealed that McLain accessed Division of Motor Vehicle records, for the purpose of processing vehicle-related transactions, without proper credentials.
The charges against McLain are class A misdemeanors, a crime that carries a maximum possible penalty of up to a one year in jail and a $2,000 fine for each offense.
McLain was released on personal recognizance bail. She will be arraigned on June 3, 2024, at 8 a.m. in the 1st Circuit - District Division - Lancaster.
