Driver Arrested Following Wrong-Way Crash
NASHUA, New Hampshire – On November 30, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m., State Police received reports of a wrong way crash involving two vehicles on the F.E. Everett Turnpike Exit 5 Northbound onramp. This incident was reported by the driver of a UPS tractor-trailer who called 911, stating his truck had been hit head on by a 4-door sedan.
The driver of the vehicle traveling the wrong way on the highway was identified as Omer Landry, age 45, of Nashua, New Hampshire. Landry was transported to an area hospital to receive treatment for minor injuries.
The driver of the UPS truck was identified as Fred Coffin, of Waterford, ME. Coffin was able to come to a controlled stop before being struck head on by the vehicle driven by Landry. No serious injuries were sustained by either driver.
There were no calls received reporting a vehicle traveling the wrong way until the crash occurred.
The onramp running parallel to the F.E. Everett Turnpike remained closed for approximately two hours while crews worked to clean up the scene.
Following a roadside investigation, Landry was arrested by Troopers and is facing charges of Reckless Conduct, Driving While Intoxicated, Unregistered and Uninspected vehicle. Landry is scheduled to appear in the Hillsborough Superior Court in January.
