Driver Charged With Aggravated DUI After Traveling 125 MPH

Troop A

NORTH HAMPTON, N,H. – On Sunday, August 25, 2024, at approximately 11:47 p.m., Trooper Lauren Hervieux, of the New Hampshire State Police Special Investigations Unit, had been assigned to assist Troop A with patrol coverage. As Trooper Hervieux was monitoring traffic from a stationary position along Interstate 95 South in the Town of Greenland, she observed a 2017 Ford Fusion traveling at an apparent high rate of speed. Initially, Trooper Hervieux confirmed the speed of the vehicle at 113 MPH. After the Ford traveled past Trooper Hervieux’s location, Trooper Hervieux caught up with the Ford as it continued southbound into the Town of North Hampton and noted that the speed of the Ford continued to increase as the operator made a series of lane changes. As Trooper Hervieux traveled behind the Ford, she was able to confirm the speed of the Ford at 125 MPH.

Based upon these observations, Trooper Hervieux initiated a motor vehicle stop on the Ford and subsequently identified the operator as Tehya Patch, 20, of Farmington, New Hampshire.

Patch was ultimately arrested and charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Liquor, Driving Under the Influence of Liquor, and Reckless Operation. Patch was issued personal recognizance bail pending an appearance in the Hampton District Court on September 12, 2024.

Anyone with information that may assist in this investigation can contact Trooper Hervieux at Lauren.E.Hervieux@DOS.NH.GOV.
