Driver Hurt In One-Car Crash On I-93
Troop B
HOOKSETT, N.H. – A Hooksett resident has serious injuries after the car they were driving went off Interstate 93, rolled and struck a tree.
Yesterday, April 30, at 7:48 p.m., State Troopers from the Troop B barracks responded to a crash on I-93 northbound near mile marker 24. Initial reports stated that a car went off the road and crashed; and that the driver had been thrown from the car during the crash.
At the scene, investigators determined a gold 2000 Toyota Corolla had exited the interstate on the right side and rolled multiple times before stopping after striking a tree. At some point during the crash, the driver was thrown from the Corolla. The driver was later transported to Elliot Hospital with serious injuries.
The driver and lone occupant of the Corolla has been identified as Kristian M. Whittum, 23, of Hooksett.
Multiple northbound lanes were closed near the area of the crash from approximately 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Hooksett Police Department and the Hooksett Fire Department.
All aspects of the crash are currently under investigation. Anyone who may have information that could assist in the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Gazlay at (603) 223-4381 or kevin.j.gazlay@dos.nh.gov.
