photo of vehicle being lifted over the guardrailOn 1/29/2022 at approximately 3:52 A.M. the New Hampshire State Police – Troop D received a report of a loud bang in the area of the I-89 Junction with I-93. Troopers responded to the area and located a vehicle that had crashed on the ramp from I-89 SB to I-93 NB. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling at high speed on I-89 SB when it struck a guardrail and then launched over a chain link fence before landing on a walking trail and striking some trees which brought it to a stop. The occupants had fled from the vehicle by the time troopers got to it, however Bow Officers quickly located a male on the ice on a nearby river behind the Grapone dealerships. Further investigation revealed that he had been driving the vehicle. Trooper Myrdek and K9 Ragnar conducted a track from the vehicle and located the female owner of the vehicle in a wooded area on the other side of the ramp about a quarter mile away. Both were intoxicated and were taken into custody and transported to Troop D. The male and female were identified as:

  1. Steven Longchamp of Colchester, VT (Age 27)
  2. Crystal Wynott of Hillsborough, NH (Age 31)

Steven Longchamp was charged with DUI, Possession and Transportation of a Controlled Drug, Operating after Suspension – Subsequent, and Conduct after an Accident. Crystal Wynott was charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug.

The State Police were assisted on scene by the Bow Police Department and the Bow Fire Department. This crash remains under investigation at this time and if anyone has information regarding this incident please contact Trooper Derek Myrdek at 603-223-8944 or email at Derek.M.Myrdek@dos.nh.gov.
