Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident - F.E. Everett Turnpike South, Merrimack
On July 24, 2019 at approximately 12:50 pm, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police, and members of the Merrimack Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on the F. E. Everett Turnpike South in the town of Merrimack, just south of exit 10.
On arrival, Troopers conducted an accident investigation and discovered that this crash resulted in a single person fatality. Evidence on scene revealed that the vehicle was traveling southbound on the Turnpike when for an unknown reason the operator lost control of the vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway and impacted a tree head on. The operator suffered fatal injuries as a result of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Medical Examiner's Office.
Traffic in this area was restricted to one lane for approximately 2 hours while the scene was processed.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin can be notified.
