Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash
MILTON, New Hampshire - On September 14, 2023, at approximately 1:34 a.m., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop A Barracks, along with fire and EMS personnel from the Milton and Wakefield Fire Departments, responded to the report of a single vehicle crash along the Spaulding Turnpike Exit 18 Northbound on ramp.
Upon arrival, Troopers identified the involved vehicle as a:
2022 GMC Sierra 2500
Color: White
After conducting an initial investigation, the truck in believed to have been driving the wrong way along the Exit 18 on-ramp, towards the highway. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle departed the roadway, continued down an embankment, and came to final rest within the woods, approximately 300 feet from the roadway. The driver of the truck was identified as:
Michael Riley
Age: 55
Sanbornville, NH
Mr. Riley was pronounced deceased on scene. No passengers or other vehicles were involved. All aspects of the crash remain under investigation, although a medical emergency does appear to be a contributing factor to the crash.
