Fatal Traffic Crash, I-93S, New Hampton
On July 25, 2019 at approximately 12:39 p.m., New Hampshire State Police Communications received a call about a motorcycle that had gone off I-93 south near mile marker 72.2 in New Hampton.
Troopers arrived and found a 2011 Harley Davidson FLHX motorcycle approximately 30 feet off the roadway in the median. Initial investigation indicated that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling southbound when he drifted off the roadway and struck a guardrail. The operator was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Due to the collision, one lane of the highway was shut down for approximately 2.5 hours. The New Hampshire State Police, Troops D and F were assisted on scene by the New Hampton Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
At this time, it appears the operator may have experienced a medical event which caused him to lose control and drive off the roadway. All aspects of the crash remain under investigation. The deceased has been identified as: Mr. Roland Leclerc, age 66 of Lancaster, NH.
