Fuel Delivery Truck Rollover and DWI Arrest
New Hampton, – On June 8, 2023, at approximately 7:16 a.m., New Hampton Police and Fire Departments, along with members of New Hampshire State Police Troop E and the Troop G Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit responded to the area of Route 132 approximately 1 mile north of the Pike Industries facility for the report of a two-vehicle crash involving a passenger vehicle and a fuel delivery truck.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2022 Subaru Impreza operated by Anakin J Graton, age 20 of Sanbornton, NH was traveling south in the north bound lane forcing a 2012 Freightliner fuel delivery truck traveling northbound off the side of the road in an attempt to avoid a collision. The fuel delivery truck, owned by Dead River Company out of Manchester, NH rolled over as a result of the crash, blocking both lanes of travel.
The driver of the fuel delivery truck, identified as Avery Welcome, age 37 of Andover, NH received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. New Hampton Police Department arrested Graton for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
New Hampshire Department of Environmental Service responded to the scene to contain fuel discharged from the fuel delivery truck.
