Fugitive From Justice Arrested Following Pursuit
Troop A
ROCHESTER, N.H. – A suspect wanted for multiple outstanding warrants was taken into custody after a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
At 8:38 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2024, an officer from the Epping Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Route 125. However, the driver accelerated and continued northbound, and a pursuit was initiated. State Troopers from the Troop A barracks were notified of the pursuit and responded to assist.
As Troopers joined the pursuit in the area of the intersection of Route 125 and Route 9 Barrington, they learned that the fleeing vehicle had invalid license plates and matched the description of a stolen vehicle wanted in connection to a burglary involving the theft of firearms.
After pursuing the vehicle on various roads within the Strafford County area, Troopers were able to successfully deploy a tire deflation device on the Spaulding Turnpike Connector in Rochester, where the driver and only occupant was taken into custody.
The driver, identified as Donald Nisbet, 38, of Rochester, was arrested as a Fugitive from Justice and charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property, felon in possession of a deadly weapon, as well as misdemeanor counts of disobeying an officer, aggravated driving under the influence and operating after suspension (subsequent). Nisbet was also cited for violations, including reckless conduct and misuse of plates, and was found to have multiple warrants for his arrest, including for theft-related charges and a bail violation. The case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible. Nisbet was scheduled to appear in Rochester District Court today, October 23, 2024.
Multiple agencies were involved in the pursuit and assisted Troopers, including the Epping Police Department, Lee Police Department, Barrington Police Department, Rochester Police Department, Farmington Police Department, and the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office. Matt Scotts Auto Center removed the suspect’s vehicle.
An investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information that may assist is asked to contact Trooper Stephen Galvin at Stephen.M.Galvin@dos.nh.gov. No booking photo is available at this time.
