Helicopter Crash

DANBURY, N.H. – A pilot was injured after the helicopter he was flying crashed at a residential property in Merrimack County.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. today, June 1, State Troopers from the Troop D barracks, along with members of the Danbury Police Department and the Danbury Fire Department, responded to a report of a helicopter crash at 208 Dean Road in Danbury.

The initial investigation indicates the helicopter pilot lost control near a landing site and crashed into the wood line of the residential property. The pilot, the sole occupant, suffered injuries but was conscious, breathing and alert. He was taken by ambulance to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment. 

The name of the pilot is not being released at this time.

Anyone who may have witnessed the helicopter crash or who has additional information should contact the Danbury Police Department. Additionally, the Federal Aviation Administration and NTSB have assumed the lead of the investigation into the circumstances of the crash, and further media inquiries should be directed to those agencies.
