I-95 Labor Day Weekend Enforcement Effort, Interstate 95 Greenland and Hampton, NH
Throughout the days of Sunday and Monday of this Labor Day Weekend, Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit and Troop-A concentrated their enforcement efforts on reducing speed and other hazardous driving behavior on Interstate 95 in the Towns of Greenland and Hampton. The New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit utilized the State Police aircraft to monitor traffic.
On Sunday, September 6, 2020, Troopers identified 73 violations, including 3 operators traveling at or over 100mph, 18 operators traveling at or over 90mph, and one operator for operating after suspension. The following individuals were cited for traveling at 100mph or more;
- Aidan Tomaszewski, age 18, Sterling, MA (104mph)
- Meisang Hong, age 23, Brighton, MA (100mph)
- Hunter Graham, age 19, Amesbury, MA (100mph)
The following individual was charged with operating after suspension;
- Lisa Reagan, age 33, Johnston, RI
On Monday, September 7, 2020, Troopers identified 130 violations, including 1 operator charged with Driving While Intoxicated, 2 operators charged with road-racing, 5 operators traveling at or in excess of 10omph, 33 operators traveling at or in excess of 90mph, 2 operators charged with operating after suspension, and 4 juveniles were taken into to custody for minor in possession of alcohol.
The following subject was taken into custody for driving while intoxicated and operating after suspension;
- Blier, age 27, North Berwick, ME
The following individuals were cited for traveling at 100mph or more,
- Jonathan Ross, age 19, Lowell, MA (112mph)
- Maya McCabe, age 20, Orono, ME (106mph)
- Katerin Henriquez Lopez, age 24, Chelsea, MA (100mph)
- Juvenile operator (121mph) and transporting alcohol by a minor.
- Christopher Mahoney, age 41, Peabody, MA (105mph). Mr. Mahoney was also charged with road racing along with;
- Joseph Santagata, age 36, Warick, RI (97mph).
The following individual was charged with operating after suspension;
- Megan Monterrosa, age 25, Salem, MA
The above individuals have varying court dates in the 10th Circuit Courts for Hampton District and Portsmouth District.
The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol the entire state, often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter travel periods and peak holiday travel periods, with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
