Missing Person- Lake Massabesic, Lake Massabesic, Auburn, NH

On September 11, 2020, the New Hampshire State Police-Marine Patrol was notified of a missing boater on Lake Massabesic in the Town of Auburn.

Officers arrived on scene to learn that Joseph Moreau, age 83, of Methuen, MA was missing off his canoe that he launched by himself at Clair’s Landing. Auburn Police and Fire, NH Fish and Game, Auburn Watershed Police, NH State Police- Troop A and Marine Patrol responded. Joseph’s son provided the attached photo and name of the missing person.

Update

On September 13, 2020, members of the NH Fish and Game dive team located and recovered Moreau on Lake Massabesic in Auburn. The NH Medical Examiner’s Office responded. The victim was later transported to Concord Hospital for an autopsy scheduled for Monday.
