Motor Vehicle Crash - Chesterfield

On June 10, 2021, at approximately 10:41 pm, troopers from the New Hampshire State Police-Troop C and Troop G responded to a motor vehicle crash on Rte. 9 in Chesterfield involving two tractor-trailer units. The location of the crash was near the intersection of Locust Lane. When emergency crews arrived, the involved drivers were identified as,

Norman Cobb
Age 59
Chesterfield, NH

David Troup
Age 64
Commerce City, CO

Preliminary investigation revealed that Cobb was backing his TT Unit into a driveway located on the eastbound side of Rte. 9 when his trailer was struck by Troup, who was traveling eastbound on Rte. 9. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. Cobb was uninjured. Troup sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries and had to be extricated from the cab of his truck. He was transported to Brattleboro Memorial Hospital before being air lifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center.

The State Police were assisted at the scene by the Chesterfield Police Department, the Chesterfield Fire Department, Spofford Fire Department, and the Brattleboro, VT Police Department. Rte. 9 was shut down for approximately 5 hours while the vehicles and debris were cleared.
