Motor Vehicle Crash - F.E. Everett Turnpike North, Nashua
On Thursday August 22nd, 2019, at approximately 1437hrs, Troopers from NH State Police Troop B Barracks, and the Nashua Fire Department, responded to a reported crash involving one motor vehicle and one John Deer Tractor. The crash occurred on the F. E. Everett Turnpike, just North of exit 4 in Nashua, NH. When Troopers arrived on scene, they observed a DOT, John Deer tractor that had sustained heavy damage resting in the breakdown lane of the highway. A second vehicle was several hundred feet ahead of the tractor, and had heavy front end damage.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the motor vehicle, driven by Daniel Jarry, 22 years old, Nashua, NH, drifted into the breakdown lane, crossing the fog line, and subsequently struck a Department of Transportation John Deer Tractor, driven by Thomas Porter, 56 years old, Nashua, NH.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Members of the Nashua Fire Department were able to render aid to both operators on scene prior to transporting Jarry and Porter to local hospitals. After treatment at the local hospital Porter was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries.
Jarry was transported to Southern New Hampshire Medical Facility in Nashua with non-life threatening injuries.
Four lanes of travel were shut down for approximately 2 hours while Troopers processed the scene.
NH DOT also responded to the scene to assist with lane closures and traffic control until both vehicles were removed and all lanes of travel were open.
All aspects of this crash are still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Trooper Randall at (603) 223-8844 or Patrick.randall@dos.nh.gov.
