Motor Vehicle Crash/ Interstate 93 South, Concord

I-93 southbound south of Exit 17W overpass, damaged by trucktruck after striking I-93 overpass

On March 14, 2019 at approximately 06:12 am, Troopers from Troop D responded to Interstate 93 southbound south of Exit 17W in the City of Concord, NH for the report of a motor vehicle crash where a dump truck struck the overpass.

The dump truck was operated by; Joseph Brady, Age:57 Conway, NH.

During the course of his travels, for reasons unknown, the dump body lifted in the upwards position. As the truck was traveling under the Hoit Rd Bridge (Exit 17 bridge) the dump body struck the bridge, scattering debris in the roadway, three other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Brady was issued a summons for negligent driving.

Three operators were taken to the Concord Hospital for precautionary purposes, there were no serious injuries reported.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The Interstate remains closed in this area while D.O.T. bridge maintenance crews repair damage to the overpass. More updates will be made available as it comes in.
