Motor Vehicle Crash, Spaulding Turnpike northbound at General Sullivan Bridge
On January 30, 2020, at approximately 5:00 pm, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop-A responded to a motor vehicle crash on the Spaulding Turnpike at the General Sullivan Bridge.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by Daniel St Clair, age 34, of Lebanon, ME was traveling northbound on the Spaulding Turnpike when it struck the guardrail on the right side of the roadway. The truck then careened across the highway and struck the guardrail on the left side of the roadway, where it came to final rest.
St Clair was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, while two northbound lanes of the Spaulding Turnpike were closed on the General Sullivan Bridge for approximately 45 minutes.
St Clair was subsequently arrested at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, and he faces charges of DWI Subsequent Offense, and Operating After Suspension. St Clair was released on bail with a 10th Circuit -Portsmouth District Court date of March 30, 2020 at 8:00 am.
Assisting agencies were NH State Police Troop-G, Newington Police Department, and Newington Fire Department.
This crash remains under investigation by Trooper Kevin Dobson.
