Motor Vehicle Crash in Westmoreland

Westmoreland, New Hampshire – On February 16, 2023, at approximately 10:34 AM, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop C Barracks responded to the scene of a motor vehicle collision on Rte. 12 in the Town of Westmoreland, in the area of Capron Road.

On scene investigation determined that a 2008 Subaru Forester driven by Jon Pontti, age 50, of Claremont, NH was traveling southbound when it traveled over the yellow solid line and struck a 2012 Toyota Prius being driven northbound on Rte. 12 by Jacob Karmen, age 48, of Bellows Falls, VT. Mr. Karman and a passenger in the 2008 Subaru Forester received serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Cheshire Medical Center.

The New Hampshire State Police were assisted by members of the Walpole Police Department, New Hampshire Fish & Game, Keene Fire Department and the Westmoreland Fire Department.

Jon Pontti was arrested for Aggravated Driving Under the Influence and was released on Personal Recognizance Bail, scheduled to appear before the Cheshire Superior Court on March 23, 2023, at 1:00 PM.
