Motor Vehicle Fatal Crash

North Hampton, NH – On June 25, 2022 at approximately 3:45 PM, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop A Barracks, along with Officers from the North Hampton Police Department and medical personnel from the North Hampton Fire Department, responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Woodland Road in the Town of North Hampton.

Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2015 Black BMW entered the intersection, causing a collision with a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The operator of the BMW was identified as Jennifer McCoy (Age: 38), Boston, MA.

Both McCoy, her juvenile passenger, and the operator of the motorcycle were taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The operator of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the hospital as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. McCoy and her juvenile passenger did not sustained any injuries.

McCoy was subsequently charged with Driving under the Influence and is scheduled to be arraigned in Rockingham County Superior Court.

At the request of the North Hampton Police Department, the Collision Analysis & Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit responded to the scene and assumed the lead of the investigation. The C.A.R. Unit was assisted on scene by New Hampshire State Police –Troop A, and the North Hampton Police and Fire Departments.

The deceased motorcycle operator has been identified as David Penney (58) of Tewksbury, MA.
