Motor Vehicle Pursuit
Windham – On April 16, 2023, at approximately 3:23 AM, Trooper Ryan Harkonen of the New Hampshire State Police Troop B barracks made contact with a 2018 Honda Accord for speeding and committing multiple lane control violations on Interstate 93 in the town of Windham. As Trooper Harkonen approached the passenger side of the vehicle, he observed the lone female operator place the vehicle back into drive.
Trooper Harkonen returned to his cruiser and proceeded after the fleeing operator who was also believed to be impaired. The operator continued fleeing despite Troopers following with their emergency lights and sirens activated. Pursuit of the suspected impaired driver continued along Interstate 93 north until the driver lost control of her vehicle in the area of Exit 8 in the City of Manchester and struck the guardrail along the right side of the roadway. The operator continued in her attempt to flee, but the vehicle was disabled due to the damage sustained. The operator of the vehicle was taken into custody by Troopers on scene without further incident.
The operator was transported to the Elliot Hospital in Manchester where she was cleared by medical staff and found to have no serious injuries.
The operator was identified as Genesis Quezada, Age: 24, Haverhill, MA.
Quezada is scheduled to be arraigned on May 19, 2023, in the 10th Circuit, District Division – Derry Court on charges of Aggravated Driving while Intoxicated, Reckless Conduct, Disobeying an Officer, Operating after Suspension, Reckless Operation and multiple charges related to failing to maintain proper lane control, and unsafe lane changes. She was released on personal recognizance bail on the above charges.
In addition to the above charges, Quezada was held on $2,000.00 cash bail as a result of having two warrants for her arrest out of the 10th Circuit, District Division – Salem Court. Quezada was transported to the Rockingham County Jail where she was held on the active warrants.
