Motor Vehicle Pursuit Ends in Crash

Troop A

EXETER, N.H. – On Friday, August 30, 2024, at approximately 8:50 p.m., State Troopers assigned to the Troop A barracks responded to assist the Auburn Police Department with a vehicle they were pursuing on Route 101 East in Auburn after observing the vehicle operating erratically in their town. The pursuit continued across Route 101 East and then moved onto local roads, where it crashed after the operator tried to avoid spike strips deployed by State Police near the area of Route 111 and Pickpocket Road in Exeter, NH. The fleeing vehicle struck a vehicle that was stopped along the roadside of Route 111. The operator of the stopped vehicle was treated for minor injuries and released from the Exeter Hospital. The operator of the fleeing vehicle was identified as Kevin Labelle, 32, of Manchester, NH, a registered sex offender currently on parole. Labelle was transported to the Exeter Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. An adult passenger in Labelle’s vehicle was treated for minor injuries at the Portsmouth Hospital.

Labelle was arrested and faces multiple charges, including the felony charges of Reckless Conduct, Criminal Mischief, Criminal Restraint, and Driving as a Habitual Offender. He faces the misdemeanor charges of DWI – 3rd offense, Aggravated DWI, Conduct After an Accident, Driving Without Proof, and Driving After Suspension for DWI. As a result of Labelle’s criminal charges, his parole was revoked, and he was transported to the Rockingham County Jail to be held. 

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Auburn Police Department, Exeter Police Department, Exeter Fire Department, and Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office.
