Motor Vehicle Pursuit - Interstate 93, Londonderry/Derry/Windham/Salem

photo of vehicle involved in motor vehicle pursuitOn March 19th, 2022 around 0234 hours, Troop B Troopers observed a vehicle operating erratically on Interstate 93 northbound in Londonderry. The vehicle then crossed a grassy median to take the Exit 5 off ramp so the Troopers caught up to it and attempted to stop it. After stopping briefly, the vehicle took off, fleeing on Interstate 93 southbound and a pursuit ensued.

During the pursuit the vehicle continued to operate erratically, swerving all over the road. The Troopers also observed items being thrown out of the vehicle. As the vehicle continued to flee south on Interstate 93, Salem Officers were able to successfully deploy spike strips, deflating three of the vehicle’s four tires. The vehicle then took the Exit 2 off ramp and continued onto Pelham Road. After about a mile it turned onto a dead end road and came to a stop whereupon the driver and a passenger were taken into custody without further incident.

After they were in custody, the Troopers discovered that there was also an eight month old baby in the vehicle. Neither the baby or the other two occupants were injured in this incident but an ambulance was called to check out the baby as a precaution due to the operator’s erratic manner of operation.

The operator was identified as Travis Tillman (age 20 of Lowell, MA). The female passenger was identified as Hailey Dorr (age 21 of Manchester, NH).

Tillman was arrested and charged with Disobeying an Officer, Felony Reckless Conduct, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Reckless Operation, 2 Counts of Felony Criminal Restraint, and Operating with a Suspended License. He was later released on cash bail with a Rockingham Superior Court date. Dorr was arrested on an unrelated warrant and released a short time later.

The NH State Police would like to thank the Salem Police Department for their assistance in stopping this dangerous driver and the Salem Fire Department for their assistance afterward.
