New Year's Eve Enforcement, Merrimack County
New Hampshire State Police, Troop D, conducted enhanced enforcement efforts during the overnight hours of December 31, 2020 to January 1, 2021. Troopers remained vigilant in ensuring that citizens and travelers to this state reached their destinations safety. Troopers targeted impaired, aggressive and hazardous drivers during these hours; in addition to enforcing all other aspects of both motor vehicle and criminal law.
These efforts resulted in several dozens of motor vehicle contacts, moreover, 8 arrests were made for DUI and Possession/Transporting Drugs in a Motor Vehicle, etc. Two drug seizures were also made resulting in the confiscation of Cocaine, Psilocybin Mushrooms and over 30 grams of Fentanyl.

The New Hampshire State Police has taken an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when impaired. New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight impaired driving and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their fullest extent to make sure our citizens and visitors are safe when operating their vehicles on our roadways.
