Passenger Flown To Hospital Following Crash In Surry

Troop C

SURRY, N.H. – A juvenile passenger was transported by medical helicopter after a single-vehicle crash in Surry.

At 3:49 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, State Troopers assigned to the Troop C barracks responded to Pond Road in Surry for a report of a serious crash. Troopers arrived and found a heavily damaged 2011 Nissan Altima off the road, with a juvenile passenger trapped inside.

Members of the Surry Fire Department and Keene Fire Department responded and freed the juvenile passenger from the vehicle. The juvenile passenger was initially transported to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene with serious injuries, but was later flown by medical helicopter to a trauma center.

The driver of the Altima, also a juvenile, was assessed at the scene and determined to be uninjured. The driver was then summoned for speeding.

All aspects of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is asked to contact Trooper James Lamoureux at James.D.Lamoureux@DOS.NH.GOV.
