Reckless Operation Arrest
North Hampton, New Hampshire – On December 13, 2022 at approximately 3:04 AM, Trooper Stephen Galvin of the New Hampshire State Police Troop A Barracks, was monitoring traffic on Interstate 95 in the Town of North Hampton when he observed a 2018 Nissan Sentra traveling at a high rate of speed along Interstate 95 South in the Town of Greenland. Trooper Galvin subsequently confirmed the speed of the Nissan 109MPH in a 65MPH speed limit zone. As the Nissan traveled past Trooper Galvin and entered into the Town of North Hampton, Trooper Galvin pulled into traffic behind the Nissan and began attempting to close the distance between his cruiser and the Nissan at which time the Nissan continued accelerating rapidly. While attempting to close the distance between his cruiser and the Nissan, Trooper Galvin confirmed the speed of the in excess of 120MPH in a posted 65MPH speed limit zone. Trooper Galvin then activated emergency lighting, signaling the Nissan to stop. Eventually, the Nissan came to a stop along Interstate 95 South in the vicinity of Exit 2 in the Town of North Hampton. Trooper Galvin identified the operator of the Nissan as Hao JIN, age 23, of Portland, Maine. Ultimately, JIN was taken into custody and charged with Reckless Operation. Following processing, JIN was released on a summons pending an appearance in the 10th Circuit Court – District Division – Hampton on February 9, 2023 at 8:00 AM.
