Two Hospitalized After Crash On Circumferential Highway

Troop B

NASHUA, N.H. – One person was airlifted, and another was taken by ambulance after a single-vehicle crash in Nashua last night.

At 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, State Troopers assigned to the Troop B barracks responded to a crash off the ramp to Circumferential Highway eastbound from Daniel Webster Highway. Initial reports indicated the vehicle went off the road, rolled over and had two occupants with serious injuries. One of the occupants was also reportedly thrown from the vehicle during the crash.

When Troopers arrived at the scene, the preliminary investigation determined a red 2022 Hyundai Kona driven by Ian Odea, 26, of Hudson, New Hampshire, had been traveling eastbound on Circumferential Highway when the vehicle went off the road on the offramp to Daniel Webster Highway, crossed an onramp, then went over a guardrail before rolling down a steep embankment leading to railroad tracks by the Merrimack River. At some point during the rollover, a passenger, identified as Laura Gomes Duhan, 26, of Haverhill, Massachusetts, was thrown from the vehicle.

Boston MedFlight responded to the scene and transported Gomes Duhan to Lahey Hospital & Medical Center. To accommodate the medical helicopter landing, all lanes on both sides of Circumferential Highway, as well as the on- and offramps to Daniel Webster Highway, were closed. Odea was transported by ambulance to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Nashua Police Department and Nashua Fire Rescue.

All aspects of the crash are currently under investigation. Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper First Class Tyler Duhamel at (603) 223-4381 or tyler.j.duhamel@dos.nh.gov.
