Two People Hurt In Crash That Temporarily Closed I-95 South
Troop A
GREENLAND, N.H. – Two people were seriously injured in a head-on crash that temporarily closed all southbound lanes on Interstate 95.
Just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, State Troopers assigned to the Troop A barracks responded to a reported rollover crash on I-95 South in Greenland. When Troopers arrived, they determined that a vehicle crossed the median from the northbound lanes and struck another vehicle traveling southbound head-on. The drivers of both vehicles, who were the sole occupants, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
As a result of the crash, all lanes of I-95 South were shut down for approximately one hour while the crash was investigated, and debris was cleared. One lane remained closed for an additional half-hour while the remaining debris was cleared from the road. Troopers were assisted at the scene by members of the Greenland Police Department, Greenland Fire Department, North Hampton Fire & Rescue, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
At this time, the names of the drivers are being withheld and no charges have been filed, however, all aspects of the crash remain under investigation. Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Trooper Patrick Vetter at (603) 271-3636.
