Upcoming Saturation Patrol - Greater Concord Area

CONCORD, New Hampshire – Executive Major Matthew Shapiro, of the New Hampshire State Police, and Lieutenant Daniel Baldassarre, Troop D Commander, announce that on Saturday, August 26, 2023, State Troopers from the Troop D barracks will conduct DWI Saturation Patrols in the Greater Concord Area. This initiative is sponsored and funded by the New Hampshire Office of Highway Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The program provides federal highway safety funds to support these Saturation Patrols. NHTSA analytical data from 2021 shows that in the United States, 37 people die each day in a drunk driving crash - that’s one person, every 39 minutes. In 2021, 13,384 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes in the United States. The New Hampshire State Police have taken an aggressive stance to prevent persons from driving when impaired.  New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight impaired driving and the law enforcement community will use those tools to their fullest extent.
