Update: CAR Unit - Negligent Homicide Charges in Crash that Resulted in Two Fatalities

GILSUM, N.H. –  An arrest warrant was obtained for two counts of Negligent Homicide against Alexander Bazarnicki in connection with a crash in Gilsum on March 29, 2024. The driver of the Kia Seltos, David Bosma, and his passenger, Kathleen Bosma, have died as a result of injuries sustained in this crash. Bazarnicki turned himself in to the Cheshire County House of Corrections on April 11, 2024, where he was processed and bailed, pending his arraignment at the Keene District Court on April 15, 2024. The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit worked in conjunction with Troopers assigned to the Troop C Barracks on this investigation.

GILSUM, N.H. – Two people were taken to hospitals by medical helicopters, and a man has been arrested for driving impaired, after a crash in Cheshire County.

On Friday, March 29, 2024, at 6:20 p.m., State Troopers assigned to the Troop C barracks responded to a report of a crash at 644 Route 10 in Gilsum. Troopers, who found a 2-vehicle crash upon arrival, determined that a 2023 Ford Transit van was traveling north on Route 10 and a 2021 Kia Seltos was traveling south when the two vehicles collided.

The driver of the Kia Seltos has been identified as 81-year-old David Bosma. Bosma was taken to Cheshire Medical Center and then transported by a DHART medical helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries. The passenger of the Kia, Kathleen Bosma, was also transported by a DHART medical helicopter to Concord Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

The driver of the Ford Transit van has been identified as 29-year-old Alexander Bazarnicki. Bazarnicki was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in Keene District Court.

At the request of Troop C, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (CAR) Unit responded and assumed lead of the investigation. The Keene Fire Department, the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Office, Gilsum Fire Department, and J&J Truck Service & Towing also assisted at the scene.
