Vehicle Pursuit

Warner, New Hampshire – On January 3, 2023 at approximately 1:08 AM, a New Hampshire State Police Trooper from the Troop B barracks attempted to stop a motor vehicle for a speeding and registration violation on Interstate 93 northbound in the city of Manchester. The vehicle was identified as a gray Ford Focus.

The operator failed to stop for the Troopers emergency lights and sirens and continued to flee through several towns including Hooksett, Bow, Concord, Hopkinton and Warner. Twice during the pursuit, the operator drove head-on towards Troopers from the Troop D barracks nearly causing a collision. The pursuit ended on Route 127 in the town of Warner when the operator turned off the vehicles lights and failed to negotiate a curve at a high rate of speed causing the vehicle to rollover and came to rest in the middle of the roadway. The operator was transported to Concord Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The lone operator was identified as Ryan Sharkey, Enfield, NH, Age: 40.

Sharkey was arrested without incident and will face multiple charges out of the Merrimack and Hillsborough Superior Courts to include felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, disobeying a police officer, aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated 2nd offense, operating after suspension offense, misuse of plates and unregistered motor vehicle. Sharkey also had an active NH Probation and Parole warrant and a NH district court bench warrant for his arrest. Sharkey was held without bail and is scheduled to appear at the Merrimack County Superior Court on January 3, 2023 at 1 PM.
