Wrong Way Driver, F.E. Everett Tpk. Exit 8 Off Ramp Nashua

On 17 June 2020 at approximately 2341hrs, Troopers from the Troop B barracks in Bedford responded to a serious crash involving a wrong way driver, on the Exit 8 NB Off ramp in Nashua. A preliminary crash investigation indicates that;

Was driving a 2018 Audi Q7 on Southwood Drive. Witnesses reported seeing him miss the right hand turn at the intersection with the off ramp and enter into the opposite lane, heading East in the Westbound lanes from the Turnpike. Wicks reportedly accelerated and subsequently crashed head on into a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe that was driven by;

Gates was transported to Southern NH Medical Center with serious injuries. Wicks was Med Flighted to Mass General Hospital in Boston with life threatening injuries.

Preliminary investigation results indicate that impairment and speed were factors in this crash. State Troopers were assisted at the scene by Nashua Police, Nashua Fire and Rescue and Boston Med Flight along with NH DOT. Trooper D.
